| A simple pictogram can go beyond many cultural barriers. It doesn't matter what language you speak, it's a global wordless understanding, a form of universal communication. Icons and pictograms play an important role in today's communication design and are more relevant than ever before. Wherever content needs to be understood in a variety of languages and room for text is insufficient, or where content can be described more effectively or faster in picture form, pictograms are a perfect solution. A little icon, if designed well, will use it's simplicity to reach maximum communication value. |

| I'm Tom Nulens, a graphic designer who is living in Belgium. I graduated with a Master in "Graphic Design & Visual Communication" at Sint-Lucas Antwerp in 1997. During my early career I worked for some creative agencies, where I designed websites, multimedia productions and motion graphics. While my experience extends to different fields in the visual arts, over the years I felt the need to specialize in those which really passionate me. I want my work to represent a form of universal language and communicate strong ideas with fresh simplicity. Therefore pictogram and illustration design has become my main focus. Currently I'm fulltime self-employed, designing stock imagery and custom projects for a selective group of clients. |
